The Stone

Natural banded black agate in an elongated flat-slice form. This is the dramatic one in the range. Broad white and grey bands sweep across a near-black ground, and many pieces open into a pale crystal centre where the agate has formed around a hollow. The contrast between the dark stone and the white banding is the whole point of it: from a distance the bar reads as a piece of geology rather than a piece of hardware. Every bar carries a different pattern, and some run more white than black.

Craftsmanship

The edge of each agate slice is electroformed in real metal: brass deposited directly onto the stone, not gold leaf or a surface coating that can rub off. The thick metallic border follows the natural organic edge of the stone, so it sits slightly differently on every bar. The mounting hardware is solid brass. Available in gold, silver and rose gold.

As each piece is naturally formed, the width and direction of the banding will vary, and the crystal centres are not present on every bar. No two handles are identical.

Where it works

Black against ivory or white is the most reliable hardware pairing there is, and it suits a kitchen that is already finished or a study where the joinery is dark. The banding does the work, so it suits a plain cabinet front rather than a busy one.
