The Stone

Warmer and browner than the name suggests. These run rust and burnt orange through to amber, with cream and white rings circling through the middle of most pieces, and very little of the true crimson people expect from red agate.

Craftsmanship

Each coaster is cut square from a larger slab and the four edges are trued by hand, which is why the corners are never quite identical. Real metal is then electroformed onto the rim: deposited directly onto the stone in a thick, solid border. Not paint, not gilding, not gold leaf. It will not chip, rub off, or fade.

Specifications

  • Material: Natural red agate
  • Shape: Hand cut square
  • Dimensions: Approx. 4 x 4 inches, 8mm thick
  • Finish options: Gold / Silver / Rose Gold
  • Set of 4
  • Non-slip pads on the base
  • Food safe

As each piece is naturally formed, colour, grain and pattern will vary. No two pieces are identical.

Gifting

A warm, autumnal gift. The rust tones sit well with brass and dark wood. Works well for Dhanteras, housewarmings, and anniversaries.

Care

Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not soak. Not dishwasher safe.
