Mother and Son
Parvati seated on a low scroll-legged bench with the young Ganesha beside her, her arm around his shoulder, his head resting against her. Both in full jewellery, her sari worked with a border that runs the length of the bench. The piece is sculpted as a family group rather than as two murtis, which is what makes it read as warm instead of formal. The tea light sits at the front of the trefoil base, below them.
Craftsmanship
Real metal, formed over the sculpted shape rather than cast, so the faces stay soft and the sari border keeps its pattern. The metal is bonded to the surface, not painted or plated, so it will not chip or rub off. Raised antique gold against a blackened ground, polished brightest on the two figures so they lift away from the base.

Dimensions and weights are approximate. Each piece is made and finished by hand, so small variations are normal.
Choosing a size
Large: an entryway console, a mantel, a living room shelf.
Small: a bedside table, a study desk, a mandir or pooja shelf. The mother and son are close-in work, and they hold up at arm's length.
Both sizes take the same 38 mm tea light, so the flame is identical. On the large it is one element below the bench; on the small it sits nearer the centre of the piece, closer to the way a diya reads. On Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali either one goes out with the diyas.
Gifting
Ganesh Chaturthi is the obvious occasion, and the mother and son reading makes it a gift people give their own mothers. Works for a griha pravesh, a new home and a wedding anniversary.
Care
Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not immerse in water. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
