The Stone

A single cross-section of petrified wood, showing the concentric growth rings of the tree from which it formed. The surface moves from dark charcoal at the outer edge through amber and burnt orange toward the centre, with natural fracture lines that trace the history of the wood. This is an ancient material: the tree that became this table lived millions of years ago.

The Design

One solid petrified wood slab sits on solid metal legs, with an electroformed metal border following every natural contour of the edge. The growth ring pattern makes each piece completely unique: no two cross-sections from the same tree are ever identical.
