The Stone

No two of these are the same, and no description fully captures them. The stone on this platter shifts dramatically across its surface — deep smoky purple-grey alongside warm terracotta and rust-red — the boundary between them natural and unplanned, falling differently on each piece. The surface is raw and crystalline, not polished smooth: you can see the jagged crystal formations, the pockets and shadows within. It looks less like a serving board and more like a landscape — a geological event, flattened and framed in metal.

Craftsmanship

The stone is hand-cut to reveal this cross-section. The edge is electroformed: real metal electrically deposited directly onto the stone, building a thick, solid, permanent border. Not paint, gilding, or gold leaf. Actual metal bonded to stone.
