The Dark Green Agate

Emerald through to forest green, with olive and mossy pieces breaking up the band, this is the darkest stone we set on glassware. Dark green agate carries the grounding associations of forest and earth, and against clear glass the depth of colour reads from right across a room. Every chip is natural, so no two glasses carry the same patterning.

Craftsmanship

Each piece is made by hand. Genuine dark green agate chips are applied one at a time around the lower half of the bowl, wrapping the glass in a broad band that narrows to a point where the bowl draws down into the stem. Real metal is then built up over the stone through an electroforming process, forming a thick, solid layer that locks each chip in place and finishes along the top edge in broad, leaf-like metal shapes that climb over the clear glass. The stem and foot are left as bare clear glass. Unlike paint or thin plating, this is solid deposited metal: it will not rub off, chip, or peel. The outermost layer is applied in your finish of choice: gold, silver, or rose gold.
