The Design

Petals radiating out from a textured seed head, each one shaped and set at a slightly different angle so the rim of the tray ripples instead of running flat. Whichever finish you choose, it catches light along the petal tips and holds shadow near the centre.

Craftsmanship

Electroforming gives this tray its body. The flower is sculpted first, then metal is deposited onto that core layer by layer until the sculpted petals and seed head are rendered in solid metal. The piece is antiqued by hand in India once the metal has grown, so the darker tone settles into the folds between the petals while the raised tips stay bright. No two pieces are identical, because each one is finished separately.
