The Stone

Pyrite cut as a rectangle with stepped facets down the sides. The ground is a dark charcoal-grey and the pyrite itself breaks through it in bright metallic gold veins and patches, so the gold is the mineral and not a coating. The distribution of gold differs on every stone.

Craftsmanship

Each stone is held in a heavy electroformed bezel that wraps the sides and corners. Electroforming grows real metal directly onto the stone in a plating bath rather than laying foil or paint over it, so the metal is bonded to the piece and follows every irregularity of the cut. The thread and fixings are solid brass. Available in gold, silver and rose gold.
