The Design

A clear bowl on a hammered brass stem, with the name you choose formed in a flowing script that runs up the stem and carries on into the openwork of the foot. The letters are built up in metal and stand clear of the stem, joined to each other the way handwriting is, so the name reads as the shape of the stem rather than as a label on it. The glass itself is left plain.

Craftsmanship

The stem and foot are electroformed: real brass built up layer by layer, then finished in gold, rose gold, silver or antique. Not painted. Not plated. The script is formed in the same pass as the stem, which is why it carries the same hammered light across its faces instead of sitting on top of the surface.

Specifications

Clear wine glass on a hammered electroformed stem with an openwork foot
Script lettering raised on the stem and base
Lettering never touches the glass

Gifting

A wedding or anniversary present, and a good one for a milestone birthday where a name on the gift is the whole idea. Given as a pair it reads as a proper occasion present.
