The Stone

Mahogany obsidian is volcanic glass, not agate. The face is a deep oxblood brown broken by irregular patches of black, closer to a polished wood grain than to a banded stone, and it takes a harder shine than anything else in the range.

Craftsmanship

Each coaster is hand cut from a single piece of natural stone and the outer edge is left as the slab broke, so no two silhouettes match. Real metal is then electroformed onto that edge: deposited directly onto the stone in a thick, solid border. Not paint, not gilding, not gold leaf. It will not chip, rub off, or fade.

Specifications

  • Material: Natural mahogany obsidian
  • Shape: Organic edge, left as cut from the slab
  • Dimensions: Approx. 3.5 to 4.5 inches across, 8mm thick
  • Finish options: Gold / Silver / Rose Gold
  • Set of 4
  • Non-slip pads on the base
  • Food safe

As each piece is naturally formed, colour, grain and pattern will vary. No two pieces are identical.

Gifting

A dark, warm gift for a bar cart or a study rather than a dining table. Works well for housewarmings, birthdays, and anniversaries.

Care

Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not soak. Not dishwasher safe.
