The Mug

A gloss black body with a metal handle, and the chip ring running right around the foot. The dark glaze makes the ring look lit from within, particularly with amethyst.

The Stone

A dense ring of natural gemstone chips sits at the very base of this 13oz mug, wrapping the foot completely while the rest of the mug stays clean and unadorned. The contrast between the raw, jewel-toned chip ring and the smooth ceramic body is quietly striking. Amethyst, rose quartz, red agate, and green agates are each distinctive in colour and character.

Craftsmanship

Each gemstone chip is hand-placed along the base of the mug, forming a continuous ring secured in place. Both the handle and the gold setting of the chip ring at the base are electroformed, real metal electrically deposited onto the ceramic, not paint or gilding, creating a finish that holds its depth and richness over time.
