The Stone

Black obsidian cut as a faceted dome, facets worked over the whole raised surface. Obsidian is volcanic glass, so the facets polish to a hard gloss and each one throws its own small highlight: the knob reads as a cluster of points of light rather than one mirror. The stone is uniformly black with no banding or grain.

Craftsmanship

Each stone is seated in an electroformed metal collar that grips it around the base. Electroforming grows real metal directly onto the stone rather than laying foil or gilt over it, so the collar follows the exact line where the dome meets the mount and stays bonded to the piece. The thread and fixings are solid brass. Available in gold, silver and rose gold.

Black against ivory or white is the most reliable hardware pairing there is, and it suits a kitchen that is already finished or a study where the joinery is dark. Round knobs sit flush and take up the least visual room of the three cuts.

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which will dull the polish.
