The Stone

A single slice of natural agate in turquoise and sea green, with darker green pockets gathered low in the stone and pale banding running out towards the edge. Lit from behind, the thin outer bands glow hardest while the denser centre holds its colour, so the face reads as water rather than as glass.

The Design

The slice stands upright on a small metal base. The cut edge is left raw and finished in electroformed metal, which runs along the top as an uneven crest and holds the stone without covering any of it. The cord and switch sit at the back, out of the sightline.
