The Amethyst

Rich purple through to paler lilac, amethyst gives this glass the strongest colour in the range. The chips are cut chunkier than the agates, standing proud of the band rather than sitting flat, so the surface has real texture under the hand. Amethyst is associated with calm and clarity. Each chip is natural, so the shade shifts across the band and from glass to glass.

Craftsmanship

Each piece is made by hand. Genuine amethyst chips are applied one at a time around the lower half of the bowl, wrapping the glass in a broad band that narrows to a point where the bowl draws down into the stem. Real metal is then built up over the stone through an electroforming process, forming a thick, solid layer that locks each chip in place and finishes along the top edge in broad, leaf-like metal shapes that climb over the clear glass. The stem and foot are left as bare clear glass. Unlike paint or thin plating, this is solid deposited metal: it will not rub off, chip, or peel. The outermost layer is applied in your finish of choice: gold, silver, or rose gold.
